Block puzzle tips: clear more lines, score higher.
Block puzzles look simple: drag a piece, fill a line, repeat. The highest scores come from planning, not speed. Here is the strategy that actually moves your score, based on how Instant Block Puzzle scores every move.
To get a higher score in block puzzle, keep the board open and clear several lines at once. Build from the edges, always leave space for the 3 × 3 square and the five-block line, avoid single-cell holes, and line up placements that finish a row and a column together. In Instant Block Puzzle, one move that clears four lines scores 1,000 points, while four single clears score 400.
How block puzzle scoring rewards you
Every block puzzle has the same core loop, but the scoring decides what a good move is. In Instant Block Puzzle you get 1 point per block cell placed, and line clears are worth far more, especially several at once:
| 1 line in one move | 100 points |
|---|---|
| 2 lines in one move | 300 points (vs 200 for two separate single clears) |
| 3 lines in one move | 600 points (vs 300) |
| 4 lines in one move | 1,000 points (vs 400) |
| Combo | +50 per step when you clear on back-to-back moves |
So the biggest scores do not come from clearing a line the moment you can. They come from keeping the board open long enough to set up clears of two, three or four lines with one piece, and from chaining clears move after move.
10 block puzzle tips to clear more lines
- Plan all three pieces before placing the first. You only get new pieces after using all three, so the order matters. Ask where each one fits before you commit the first.
- Always keep room for the big pieces. The 3 × 3 square and the five-block line are the pieces that end games. Keep at least one open 3 × 3 area and one clear row or column as long as you can.
- Build along the edges and corners. Filling from the sides keeps the middle open, where awkward shapes still have somewhere to go.
- Avoid single-cell holes. A lone gap surrounded by blocks can only be filled by the single block. Every hole you leave is a line you may never clear.
- Set up crossing clears. A piece that finishes a row and a column at once counts as two lines (300 points instead of 200), and it opens up space in both directions.
- Chain your clears for combos. Clearing on consecutive moves adds 50 points per step. When you have lines nearly full, line them up so each piece finishes one.
- Watch the preview glow. While you drag a piece, the lines it would clear light up before you let go. Use it to check multi-line clears before you commit.
- Spend rotations wisely, then earn more. You start with 3 and earn another at 500 points, then every 1,000 points (up to 9). Spend one when turning a piece completes a line or is the only way it fits, and keep scoring to top up.
- Treat Undo as insurance. You also get 3 undos. If a new set of pieces leaves you stuck, the game offers an undo before it ends, so keep one in reserve for the late game.
- Slow down as the board fills. There is no timer. Late in a game, a few seconds checking every position for each piece is the difference between a record and a game over.
When does a block puzzle game end?
In Instant Block Puzzle the game ends only when none of the pieces in your tray fits anywhere on the board. The game checks every piece in every position, and with a rotation if you have one left, before it ends, so one awkward piece is never enough to lose. That is why keeping space for the big shapes matters more than anything else.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best block puzzle strategy?
Keep the board open: build from the edges, leave room for the 3 × 3 square and the five-block line, and avoid single-cell holes. Then look for moves that clear several lines at once, which score far more than single clears.
How do you get a higher score in block puzzle?
Clear several lines with one piece and chain clears on consecutive moves. In Instant Block Puzzle, four lines in one move score 1,000 points versus 400 for four single clears, and each consecutive clearing move adds a 50-point combo bonus.
Is it better to clear one line at a time or several at once?
Several at once, as long as it does not leave you without space for big pieces. Two lines together score 300 instead of 200, and three score 600 instead of 300.
What is a good score in block puzzle?
There is no official benchmark, and scores depend on each game's scoring rules. In Instant Block Puzzle every cleared line is worth at least 100 points, so a four-figure score means you have cleared roughly ten or more lines. The best target is your own best score, which the game shows as you play.
Can you undo a move in Instant Block Puzzle?
Yes. Every game has 3 undos that rewind your last move completely. You also start with 3 rotations for turning a piece before you place it, and earn more as you score: one at 500 points, then one every 1,000 points. There is no hint button.
